TRTL PILLOW PLUS

THE BRIEF

Trtl Travel, known for its innovative approach to travel comfort, set out to create the Trtl Pillow Plus—the world’s first fully adjustable travel pillow, specifically designed to cater to travellers of all sizes, particularly taller individuals who often find standard travel pillows inadequate. As a core member of this project, my role as a Creative Lead  covered several areas: from sourcing premium fabrics at the Paris Premiere Vision event and working with international suppliers, to using WGSN for trend forecasting and colour palette selection. My goal was to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing product that not only met high standards of comfort and ergonomics but also aligned with Trtl’s brand identity.

In addition to overseeing visual design, I was deeply involved in the product’s Kickstarter launch, managing the visual style and messaging to appeal to backers and solidify Trtl’s position as a pioneer in travel innovation.

THE RESULT​

The Trtl Pillow Plus redefined travel comfort with its unique adjustability and ergonomic design, solving a common pain point for tall travellers. Unlike traditional travel pillows, the Trtl Pillow Plus offered customisable head and neck support, thanks to its patented adjustment mechanism and scientifically engineered structure. Designed to make even the middle seat feel like first class, it provided complete head support without the bobbing or neck pain associated with other options.
 

As part of the creative process, I worked with design team to select soft, breathable fabrics from premiere suppliers to enhance the pillow’s comfort and durability. The materials included plush foam padding, super-soft microfleece, and breathable mesh, creating a luxurious feel while ensuring temperature regulation during long-haul flights. By harmonising product design and marketing, I ensured consistency across every aspect of the launch.
 

The Kickstarter campaign was a resounding success, reaching full funding within six hours and ultimately surpassing expectations with over £200k in pre-orders. As validation of its quality and appeal, the Trtl Pillow Plus has since garnered glowing reviews, and widespread acclaim from users, with taller travellers praising it as the best solution for sleep on the go.
 

The Trtl Pillow Plus stands as a testament to Trtl’s dedication to reimagining travel comfort, and the project allowed me to bring together design, innovation, and strategic marketing, positioning Trtl as a brand that truly prioritises the needs of every traveller.
